We invite you to apply for our 2010 summer season Orchestral Course.

As part of Co-Opera Co’s orchestral course you will learn from the inside how to be part of an opera orchestra. You will thoroughly learn and perform four repertoire pieces (Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Puccini’s La Bohème, as well as performing concerts featuring famous extracts from other popular operas.


You will discover the art of skillful accompaniment; listening and responding not only to each other but also to the singers on stage. In particular, you will learn the importance of flexibility and quick thinking! Some of the most expert opera orchestral players and orchestra managers in the UK will be on-hand to give sectional tuition and offer advice on how to develop a career in an opera orchestra.


Working with some of the most exciting conductors in Europe, the month-long course will give you invaluable first-hand experience of all the skills necessary to be a successful operatic performer.


Productions for 2010 will be: A revival of La Boheme, a new production of The Marriage of Figaro (Boheme & Figaro will then go on a UK tour from September 2010)

This is part of our training programme and a course fee will be payable. (To be in the region of £200-£400 for 4 week course - players on the course will then be engaged to perform for the UK tour from September)

We are planning a UK tour of some of the productions and so far 13 performances / paid work is available afterthe summer season for succesul applicants.

WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING FURTHER APPLICATIONS FROM SOPRANO OR MEZZO SOLOISTS FOR THE 2010 SUMMER SEASON DUE TO OVERWHELMING RESPONSE - BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST IN CO-OPERA PLEASE PROCEED IN CASE FURTHER AUDITIONS TAKE PLACE.** YOU MAY STILL APPLY FOR CHORUS/ENSEMBLE/COVERS

Productions for 2010 will be: A revival of La Boheme, a new production of The Marriage of Figaro - Boheme & Figaro which will then go on a UK tour from September 2010)

Auditions are for soloists, covers and chorus for three productions with orchestra. (Figaro will be conducted by Robin Newton and directed by Jacopo Spirei; the second opera will be La Boheme conducted by Stephen Higgins and directed by William Relton)

This is part of our training programme and a course fee will be payable. We are hoping to reduce the fees by 30% from the 2009 summer school to around £900 for soloist, £600 for covers and £500 for chorus. (To be announced)

We are planning a UK tour of some of the productions and some paid work is likely beyond the summer season.
