NICHOLAS CLEOBURY is Music Director elect of Mid Wales Opera, Founder and Principal Conductor of Sounds New and Principal Conductor of the Oxford Bach Choir. He has conducted for numerous opera companies, including the Aldeburgh Festival, British Youth, Canadian and the Chicago Opera Theater. The English Bach Festival, ENO, Flanders, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Kent and Malmo Operas. Opera North, Stockholm Opera and WNO. He was Chorus Master at Glyndebourne, Principal Opera Conductor at the Royal Academy of Music, Music Director of Broomhill Opera and is a regular guest at Zurich opera. He has conducted all the leading orchestras and choirs in the UK, widely in Europe and in Scandinavia, Singapore and South Africa. He is a fervent champion of new music, has given countless premières and worked with many leading composers. He has a wide discography, appears regularly on the BBC and Classicfm and is in demand as a teacher and lecturer.
